Time-Domain Protection and Fault Location of Wye-Connected Shunt Capacitor Banks Using Superimposed Current and Differential Voltage

چکیده
This paper presents protection and fault location of wye-connected shunt capacitor banks used in medium or high voltage applications. The proposed method is sensitive to single element failure obtained by using adaptive instantaneous superimposed current each phase. change equivalent reactance computed time-domain signals find the number failed types fault. faulted identified sign difference lower upper halves bank. performance tested for various cases including identical faults, simultaneous system unbalance both double banks. also validated field data collected from a 400 kV SCB an internal technique compared with available methods found accurate.
